I have recently been having to use a lot of my local knowledge of Kilburn and the surrounding areas while giving driving lessons in NW6 London because of the large amount of road works currently going on in the high street and the very busy A5.
While some traffic is good to learn or practice your moving off and stopping skills during driving lessons, nobody learning to drive will appreciate spending 20 minutes just doing this because they are stuck on Kilburn High Road in heavy traffic while the instructor relaxes in the passenger seat, so knowing the back roads comes in very handy to not only make progress during your tuition, but also to allow a variety of driving skills to be learnt and practised by the provisional licence holder.
So if you live in NW6 and are looking for high quality driving lessons from a fully qualified honest, patient instructor will many years experience and the local knowledge to help you make very good progress (this depends on individual ability and the desire to put in the hard work to learn) in your goal to acquire a full British licence, then you should pick up the phone today and give me a call on 07956233032.
Don't forget I have the option of recording your tuition on video so you can play back your lessons on either your computer in HD or DVD player over and over again thus giving a reminder of skills learnt, mistakes made and how to rectify them as well as having something to revise before your next session with the instructor, something that could be useful to many candidates while preparing for the practical DSA car test.
As an ex AA driving school instructor, I have been trained to the highest DSA standards, am always polite, and treat all learner drivers as individuals, tailoring their lessons to their ability, so quick learners will not be held back, and those having difficulties will be given the extra help required to overcome any weaknesses. So take that step that you have been postponing for a while, begin learning to drive today.
Driving School NW London
Welcome to NW London driving school for affordable, cheap lessons in the North West post codes of London from a highly professional, knowledgable, independent department of transport/DSA approved instructor operating a school for residents and students of Mill Hill, Hendon, Colindale, Kingsbury, Burnt Oak, Edgware, Brent Cross, Kilburn, Golders Green and Willesden areas of NW London.
My name is Shola, I'm an ex AA driving instructor who is very passionate about using driving lessons to not only teach learner drivers the necessary skills to pass the UK practical car test but also the importance of being a safe driver long after the DSA examiner has given you that coveted pass certificate.
I am resident in Mill Hill, NW7 London from where my driving school provides affordable quality one on one lessons for pupils in the following post codes: NW2, NW3, NW4, NW6, NW9, NW10, NW11, HA8, N3 using the DSA structured learner record with all tuition suited to the individual's ability as shown by the driving lesson video below:In addition to the high quality one on one driving lessons in London, I also offer free advice, information and videos for learner drivers via my driving test tips website, a service that has been running since 2005 and has proved to be a valuable resource to many in their quest to get a full british driving licence, so even if you decide not to take practical car tuition with me or need an automatic car which I currently don't provide, do visit the blog and subscribe to get helpful tips that will help you to pass the UK DSA driving test.
My leased driving school Toyota Yaris car has a HD video recording system that allows me to record a lesson on to either a DVD or copied directly to a 4GB USB flash stick so the provisional licence holder can review all tuition over and over again in the comfort of your home, a free optional service, just let me know when you are booking your driving lessons, bring along a DVD (which you pick up the next time we mee) or your own USB drive (2GB minimum capacity) and you can take the video home the same day. You will not find this available from any other North West London driving school and has proved useful to many of my previous learner driver clients, some over the age of 50 saving them money and making the learning process much easier. The camera is very compact and does not obstruct your view, and provides full view of the road ahead in HD, while the microphone is able to pick up all of the instructors and students words so you able to fully understand what is going on.
A sample recording video clip from the additional/supplemental lessons help given to learner drivers from typical London streets is shown below:

Driving Test in Mill Hill, Hendon Aviation Sq and Borehamwood centres
If you are taking your practical driving car test at Mill Hill, Hendon DSA or Borehamwood WD6 centres, I would be willing to give you tuition and the use of my driving school car subject to availability and a 2hr assessment lesson, other centres I ocassional use include Barnet driving test centre, and I would advice you to give me at least a weeks notice if you want there to be any chance of me being available for your car test.Your first London Driving Lesson
If you are an absolute beginner when it comes to learning to drive a car, then here is some valuable advice that will be very useful, as many people don't know that there is a lot a learner driver can do before their first driving lesson that will not only help on the day, but could also save them some money.Once you've decided that you want to learn to drive a car, have applied for and received your provisional driving licence, you don't have to wait for your first appointment with a driving instructor to start the learning process.
The first thing you should do is get a copy of the official highway code, and start reading it, this will not only give you valuable information about driving in the UK, but it is also your first step to preparing for the DSA theory test which you need to pass before you can take the practical car assessment. If possible, read through the book completely before your first driving lesson in London, the knowledge you gain while all will not be used on the first day will help in subsequent lessons.
Learn the cockpit drill and car controls
If you've never driven a car before, then on your first lesson, the driving instructor is going to take you to a quiet and long road (these can be difficult to find in some areas of London) and teach you the cockpit drill (DSSSM) and the car controls before you actually do any driving at all. If you've only booked a 1 hour driving lesson, then you might not do any driving at all! You can give yourself a head start by either reading up on the cockpit drill or get a family member or friend to teach you. There is no reason why you should have to pay an instuctor (even if you are only paying £15 per hour) for this, you can also search on the internet to learn the car controls and their function or again a family member can come to the rescue. All this homework of the learner driver means that the instructor should just check what previous knowledge they have by questions and Answers, and then move on to actual driving, beginning with moving off and stopping.I would love to welcome you as a pupil, and look forward to offering you some high quality cheap driving lessons in North West London, so call me today on 07956233032.
