If you are a foreign licence holder and need to take the UK driving test in London, then I strongly advice you take some driving lessons before you attempt the DSA practical assessment in either a manual or automatic car.
The fact that the DVLA has decide that your licence can not be exchanged for a full British licence goes to show that they don't think the driving standards from your country are adequate enough for you not to take the UK test, and therefore you are most unlikely to get a pass cerificate if you don't get advice from a DSA approved driving instructor and go for the test.
Over the years I've helped many foreign nationals gain their full british licence with tuition ranging from just 4 hours to 15 hour intensive driving courses. It doesn't matter if you are Chineese, Albanian, Brazilian, American, South African, Nigerian or the number of years driving experience that you have, there will be some bad habits that could easily cause you to get a serious/dangerous error or more than 15 minors and this is all that could be the failure point.
