March has been a very good month for foreign licence holders taking driving lessons with me in North West London. 3 out of the 4 learner drivers passed their UK practical car assessments on their first attempt after tution with me.
First was Kastroit from Albania who took the test at the DSA Borehamwood test centre on a route with so many roundabouts I got dizzy! He Passed with 7 driving errors on March 17.
Next was Xiaoyan from China who found me looking for cheap driving lessons on the internet. She took her manual practical car test at the brand new Aviation Sq Hendon centre on the day it opened (March 24th) giving the examiner a good drive (his words during the post test feedback which I as the instructor had permission and priviledge to listen) and getting her driving pass certificate with 4 minor driving errors.
The Month ended with Philip with an international licence from the Philipines also passing at Hendon with 9 driver errors.
The only foreign licence holder who didn't pass was a nervous test candidate from Lesotho who unfortunately missed a National Speed Limit sign on a country road while taking the assessment on the least favoured Barnet driving test centre.
Update August 2009: Mohammed from Somalia recently passed his driving test at Borehamwood centre with only 4 driver errors after about 20hrs semi-intensive driving lessons with me having tried 4 years earlier and given up. He is looking forward to getting his full British licence in the post and the freedom of being in control of his little Vauxhall Corsa car.
Congrats to V from Thailand who passed her driving test on Tuesday 19th January 2010 with only 2 minor errors at the Hendon Aviation square centre NW9.
Malaysian licence holder Karuna passed her test on March 10th 2010 after a semi intensive driving course with me, congrats on the hard work paying off wih 6 driver errors.
